Felling a tree is a relatively simple process with gravity doing most of the work. However, felling a tree and controlling its fall is a very specialised and at times risky task that should not be attempted without suitable equipment and experience.
Alans Contracting Dunedin has the necessary equipment and experience to handle most tree felling tasks that are risky or difficult due to the size of the tree, access to or proximity of the tree to one or more hazards. Using our 8 ton Catapillar digger and a wire cabling system we can control the fall of the trunk eliminating the risky randomness that is inherent with just a chainsaw and an educated guess as to the direction of fall.
All of our tree felling work is conducted according to any relevant council rules and requirements following very strict health and safety requirements all the while backed up with suitable public liability cover.

So your tree has been safely felled, now what?
Alans Contracting offers a timber milling service using our portable saw mill. Many of our clients cleverly utilise the timber in their fallen trees as building material suitable for house and farm building construction. Why pay a timber supplier for expensive building materials when you can supply it yourself?
